Sleuth, September 10 at Ayden Gallery.
Check out our new bassist, Jesse. We look all dynamic and crap. Julian was pretty punk rock and stabbed his kit after we kept being told to turn it down by security. It got to the point where I think I could shout louder than we were playing and it really fucks with pacing to have to stop, fiddle with knobs and watch the audience get bored. Never play in a mall, I mean it may be like 9pm and in a gallery but if it’s 9pm and in a gallery that’s in a mall, forget it. We were going to ignore security and wait for somebody to force us to stop playing, but then I think the whole event would’ve been shut down and we didn’t want to mess it up for the Cloudscape book launch. I honestly have no idea how we sounded because I heard nothing. When we were playing the crowd seemed into it, so hopefully it was better for them than it was for me. Kind of cool how you can see the crowd in the mirrors behind us.
Next show: October 4th at the Railway Club.
I think two people got my Tiffany and Debbie Gibson references regarding playing in a mall.
