So I just splurged after mulling it over for a few weeks on some APC jeans. I also have just thought about how these are designed in France, made in Macau, shipped to Sweden (where the store I ordered from is located as it turned out to be the cheapest with my size in stock) and then shipped to Canada. This is a bit worrisome as I come to realize how A. things are heavily marked up and B. I’m probably contributing to environmental problems if you think about how much energy is wasted on transporting these goods. My response? I’d like some better Canadian clothing designers where the goods are made in the country. If we assume most of this stuff is expensive already, why not narrow the enormous profit margin a tad and make it within the (albeit huge) country?
Rant over: here’s a photo somebody took comparing their APC jeans from new to faded.
